Tungsten Powder

Tungsten metal powder is produced by controlled decomposition of APT and reduction of the oxides in hydrogen atmosphere. We offer a highly diverse range of powder grades.

Tungsten powder is mainly produced by the hydrogen reduction of high-purity tungsten oxides. Oxides are produced using ammonium paratungstate (APT). Tungsten trioxide and tungsten blue oxide tend to be the starting materials

Tungsten powder is a main raw material for processing powder metallurgy tungsten products and tungsten alloy. It can be used to create strong and durable proprietary alloys and other finished products.

Tungsten powder has many applications, including:

  • Electrical contacts
  • Semiconductors
  • Additive manufacturing
  • Diamond tools
  • Sporting goods
  • Radiation shielding
  • The defense / pyrotechnic industries
  • In heavy metal alloys
